The St. Louis Cardinals won its 11th World Series title with a 6-2 victory over the Texas Rangers in Game 7 at Busch Stadium. Chris Carpenter held his ground for six innings to help the Redbirds neutralized the Rangers battery of sluggers. David Freese, the hometown hero, hit another double-run RBI in the first inning to tie the game at 2-all. Allen Craig hits a home run in the third inning for the Cardinal's first lead of the game.
